Dance Sets
If you love to dance, and you love a wide-range of music, then you’ve come to the right place!
As a dancer and ecstatic dance facilitator, MUSIC is at the heart of what I do and love. I’ve been blessed to DJ dance sets for over 20 years.
My deep love of dance music, however, goes back to the late 70s when I was a member at The Loft (and “Paradise Garage” in NYC), one of the birthplaces of house music.
Every set I create, influenced by the years I’ve danced and led ecstatic dance experiences in Dance Our Way Home and The Move is specifically and lovingly designed to take you on an inner journey of self-discovery, joy and healing.
The map of this dance journey is a bit like a hike up and down a sloped hill; beginning with slower tunes - to soften and drop deeper into your body. The beats slowly increase in tempo until reaching the apex - to release and let go, which leads to a lighter more playful run down the hill - to arrive into the field of compassion, rest and presence.
You’ll find in my sets a variety of genres as well as tempos. Each song is placed in an intentional way, building on the songs before and after, to move you from place to place, emotion to body, heart to thought.
You’ll hear my favourite genres: funk, disco, jazz, acid jazz, blues, fusion, afro beats, world grooves, folk, reggae, pys-trance, inspirational, indo-electronic, rock, buddha bar, ambient, bossa nova, sacred chants and dance music. I also love finding remixes of classics. And sometimes, I’ll throw some pop into the mix.

The Shake has been one of the best experiences to come out of the pandemic. It’s not only a place I can move my body every weekday morning (and a few afternoons) on Zoom, it’s become a place for support and healing. It’s an honour to be a weekly DJ and part of the team.
